How to stop play store from updating itself

Google Play um um?

You just want to enjoy surfing the web, you get airtime of about 500Naira(average persons) load it up and then you make a subscription and buy data.
you switch your data on......... few minutes later, then BOOM!! all the data is Gone at once and then you try to reason what could have caused it, but to no avail.

Google play store is an exciting place for Android users, it posses everything an android user may need including apps, books,movies, etc. Google play store app is also in as much equipped and well updated according to present situations, but regardless its uniqueness it has an issue of self updating neglecting user permissions. Many android users face this problem of limited data and for it to update itself is really very annoying because it is not something that really matters at the moment of notice. Some set of people use other ways like changing permission of play store apk file to any other alternatives but I don't think that is still favourable as it will still update itself which might make your device slow in speed during the updating process.
Thanks to XDA member tsjoklat for introducing some modded play store apks which you will be able to disable self update and restrict app download. But i will only be able to share one for now.... Other updates will be available later.
Now lets get started to the main thing.
Note: you will need to have root access and S-OFF on specifically HTC phones.
How to install this play store
→ uninstall the old version of Google play store (use titanium backup to do this)
Then,
→ Reboot your device
→Download this modded play store apk from the link below
Play store v3.9.16
→ after downloading the file successfully rename the file to Vending.apk
→copy the Vending.apk file to /system/app
→enable permission by selecting these options
RW -
R – -
R – -
Don't get confused.......Interpretations R means "Read"
W means "Write"
- means "nothing "
→Now reboot your device. And you are done!
